Travels into Z-land

While my primary modeling focuses on 7/8ths scale scenes and equipment, I have fun building in whatever scale suits the moment from Z on up.  The photos below are of a small Z-scale test layout I recently built inspired by the Camus Prairie Railroad and Micro-Trains GP-9.  Owned jointly by the Northern Pacific and the Union Pacific the Camus Prairie Railroad served northern Idaho farm and timberlands .  The route had a number of interesting tunnels and bridges that make great modeling subjects and the joint ownership provides a great excuse to run a variety of equipment from both railroads.  The experiment proved enough fun that plans for a larger layout are being sketched on the back of napkins.
